Cats for Adoption
Ouija
Ouija was given up by her owner, who developed asthma as a result of cat allergies. She is a sweet and loving kitty who just wants a warm lap, some yummy treats, and space to run and play. In return, she will be a purrrfect lady–most of the time! She is a small cat, though nearly a year old now, and appears to have some Siamese in her although she is all black. She gets along well with other cats and with smaller dogs and loves to cuddle on cold winter nights. Won’t you consider giving Ouija a permanent home?

In late January, the Village of Chama told us they had picked up two cats after receiving complaints from a couple of local restaurants about the cats hanging around. Both cats were scheduled to be put down on January 29.

Naturally, we checked the cats out and as both were quite friendly, took them in. Jay Wimer kindly agreed to foster these two grown girls—one a black beauty (Ebbie)  and the other an affectionate tortie (Lizzie). Both are available for adoption and would make good indoor or indoor/outdoor pets.

Two wonderful spayed female cats need a caring home!

These loving kitties need a new home!

Our little black kitty, Ouija, is about 8 months old and is likely to remain small. She is an active and very affectionate girl who would love to be a lap kitty when she isn't busy playing. She is a bit shy of dogs, but copes in her foster home by staying clear whenever dogs are around. She is a real sweetie who deserves a home of her own.

Jumanji is a calico point Siamese mix who was put on death row by the Village of Chama when a resident complained of too many cats in her yard (photo pending). We had her spayed, not realizing she was very pregnant, and are now trying to get her built back up again. She is a bit shy, but loves to be petted. We think she will make a fine pet with a bit more socializing.

Jasmine (Jazz) - Adopted

A kindly tourist found little Jasmine on a rainy day in September 2009. Jasmine was trying to find some shelter in the wheel well of a large 4x4 truck and was probably saved from a very bad fate by this woman, who tried to find the kitten's owner and finally left her with Doctor Johnson in Chama. A few days later, Doc Johnson gave us a call and we have been fostering little Jazz ever since.

This is one special kitty--and we are waiting for the purrfect home for her. She is just about the friendliest kitten we've ever encountered, purrs constantly, is pretty fearless when it comes to other animals, and comes when called. She would make a wonderful family pet!
