Spot was picked up by the Village of Chama and would have been put down when his owners failed to claim him--but Robert Martinez, our local animal control officer, called us first. We were full to the gills, but couldn’t resist the playful and smart demeanor of this cute little mixed-breed terrier. He is around 4 or 5 months old and absolutely loves people. He is also very responsive, eager to please, and downright smart. Unfortunately, he isn’t so fond of other dogs. We would recommend Spot as a close companion in a home without small children (he likes them, but might not share toys well) and with few or no other dogs. He does play well with some other small dogs and cats, but would need to be introduced slowly and with supervision. |

P Diddly is a wonderful older dog that was found (lost or abandoned) in front of Lowe’s Supermarket on July 10. He has been well-behaved in two different foster homes, staying close to home without being confined, getting along well with other dogs and animals, and expressing his own brand of soulful appreciation for being given a second chance. He is housebroken, has a wonderful thick coat, and has been neutered. If you want a quiet good-natured companion dog that doesn’t talk back, please consider adopting P Diddly. He’s proof positive that age and beauty can go together! |

Roxie is a gentle, sweet-tempered heeler who was picked up running loose in the Village of Chama and unclaimed by her owners. We can't believe anyone would fail to claim this wonderful girl! She adores her foster mom and, although she loves to play, is eager to please her human companions and walks obediently with or without a leash. She is good with children but would also be good with an older individual. We can't say enough about this sweet girl except that we want to find a very special family who deserves her devotion! Roxie is a medium-sized dog, about 40 or 45 lbs. We think she is not more than a year old. We will be scheduling her for spay very soon and she will have all up-to-date shots before she is available for adoption. In addition to a soft coat and velvety brown eyes, Roxy has a very bushy striped tail--it looks like she might be part racoon! To see a video of Roxie playing with her foster sister (dog), please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWuqcF_VThg |

ADOPTED ADOPTED ADOPTED ADOPTED!! Rajah was adopted by a very caring family in Rio Rancho, where she has become a celebrity--check out her photo that was published in the Albuquerque Journal (she's the Rottweiler on the right)! Rajah is a lovely 5-year-old Rottweiler whose owner can no longer keep her because he has to travel for his work. She is sweet, smart, and very willing to please. She is about 85 pounds and a good eater, loves to go on walks, gets along well with other dogs, cats, and animals, and is housebroken and spayed. Rajah needs a family who will include her in their daily activities. She has lots of love to give to a lucky family who takes her in! |
